A Patch Cord is an optical or electrical cable used to connect one optical or electronic device to another for signal routing. Devices of different types are connected with patch cords. (e.g., a switch to a router, or a switch connected to a computer ). Patch Cord is also known as Patch Cable or Patch Lead. There are different types of patch cords which include extension cables, headphone, tiny telephone connectors, microphone cables , XLR connectors and thick cords that carry video or amplified signals.
